Rashmi Gulati, MD, provides innovative, individualized health care that nurtures mind, body, and spirit. Since 2004 she has been the medical director at Patients Medical, where she delivers comprehensive personalized health care, treating each patient as a respected, unique individual. Through their integrative health care center in the heart of Manhattan, Dr. Gulati and her colleagues have become premier care providers serving patients locally and throughout the world.Â
With residencies in pathology, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Rashmi Gulati’s holistic approach blends the very best of evidence-based Western medicine with traditional Eastern medical paradigms. Schooled in India and the United States, Dr. Gulati’s served a six-year medical directorship at Humana, a TRICARE contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense, after which she established her current practice at Patients Medical in Manhattan, New York. Her expansive knowledge of Eastern medical modalities and her rigorous Western medical training enables her to share a wealth of venerable medical wisdom and compassionate, holistic healing care with her patients.
While Dr. Gulati is a dedicated medical director in the midst of completing her Master’s in Medical Management, she is first and foremost a practicing physician committed to forging partnerships with her patients that focus on optimal, long-term health through education, empowerment, and personal responsibility.
In integrative medicine was gained during her childhood. She knew as young as three years of age that she wanted to be the “one in the white coat,” to give people happiness. As a child, her family physician, Uncle Doc, was a homeopathic doctor who gave her home remedies, including herbs, when she was sick. Within a day of taking the remedies, she was happy, healthy, and eating ice cream, her favorite food as a child. Dr. Gulati firmly believes holistic healthcare offers patients the most favorable outcomes. She is passionate and committed to sharing this knowledge with her patients … and helping them to achieve happiness too!
Dr. Gulati’s functional medical approach involves a passionate blend of intensive listening with extensive observation and testing, enabling her to paint as clear a patient profile as possible before making her assessment and initiating a treatment plan. Her in-depth methods encourage the body’s innate ability to heal itself, to regain balance and achieve lifelong well-being.
For Dr. Rashmi Gulati, integrative medicine is warm, inclusive, compassionate, patient care. She puts people at ease by taking the time to learn who they really are, while striving for an intelligent balance between cutting-edge methodology and time-honored, traditional medical practices. Dr. Gulati sees mainstream medicine as a highly evolved matrix for acute crisis intervention, but preventive healthcare (in contrast to sick care) as the true avenue to wellness, reached by creating health daily throughout one’s lifetime. She believes the body’s default setting favors health, and takes pride in helping patients postpone or even prevent the onset of chronic degenerative, age-related illnesses, inspiring them to foster lifestyle habits that allow one to age with grace and dignity. For most of our lives, greater wellness in body, mind, and spirit lies within our reach, regardless of prior health history or genetic blueprint.
Under Dr. Rashmi Gulati’s new leadership, Patients Medical administers care across nearly a hundred different health specialties. While much of Dr. Gulati’s practice is dedicated to internal medicine for adults, she is also a certified DAN (Defeat Autism Now) physician with a focus on children ages 5 to 12 with autism spectrum disorders. She has developed additional special interests in endocrine disorders and hormonal imbalance including fertility; mood disorders and targeted neurotransmitter support; anti-aging and longevity medicine; immune, autoimmune, and inflammatory disorders; circulatory and cardiovascular diseases and conditions; pathology and infectious disease; and toxic metal exposures and detoxification.
Graduating at the top of her class, Dr. Gulati completed her pathology residency at Rohtak Medical College in Haryana, India. She completed her internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Chicago and at Orlando’s Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida, and trained as a holistic, integrative physician with the American College for Advancement in Medicine. Dr. Gulati honed her medical knowledge under the mentorship of Dr. Warren Levin, one of the forefathers of integrative medicine, and from whom she inherited his practice, making it into what it is today, Patients Medical.
Dr. Gulati currently has medical privileges at Parkway Hospital and Wykoff Medical Center of Brooklyn, New York. She is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, American Association of Physicians from India (AAPI), American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM), and the American College of Physicians (ACP).
Dr. Rashmi Gulati is an avid proponent of meditation, healthy eating, and a healthy lifestyle, including a spiritual practice. She authentically follows her own guidance by consuming a vegetarian diet and practicing daily meditation and daily exercise, while finding great joy in being a loving mother and wife. She encourages her patients to seek the healthiest options to support their body, mind, and spirit.
